UPDATE: Positive COVID-19 Case at Perthshire Rugby 7th November 2020

UPDATE: Training Resumes from Monday 9th November

As required by both Perthshire & Scottish Rugby policies, a review of all rugby activities and risk assessments following the positive COVID-19 case last week has been completed. The Club in conjunction with Scottish Rugby are happy that we have the mitigations and procedures in place to make training sessions as COVID-19 safe as possible. As such training can resume on Monday evening.

We are constantly vigilant and encourage strong adherence to hygiene and public health measures across the Club. Thank you to the whole Perthshire Rugby community for your understanding & support over the weekend and be assured we will not hesitate to take action where the health, safety and well-being of our players and members are concerned.

Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you back to the North Inch this week.

Notice of Positive COVID-19 Case at Perthshire Rugby 7th November 2020

Earlier today Perthshire Rugby were notified that one of our Midi players who recently attended the Club has tested positive for COVID-19. In line with our policy and Scottish Rugby guidance all rugby activity was postponed.

We have been in touch directly with everyone who, through our Track & Trace system, have been identified as a possible contact of the positive case. Scottish Rugby have been informed and full cooperation is being offered to NHS Test & Protect and NHS Tayside.

An emergency COVID-19 Response Meeting was convened to discuss our immediate actions, review our COVID-19 policies and to begin a full risk assessment of Club activities. Only once it is safe and any public health advice has been implemented will rugby activities resume. Thus, training today was cancelled and training on Sunday is cancelled too.

While unfortunate, this was always a possibility. The Club have followed and operated COVID-19 safety measures since the return to rugby began. This allowed us to act swiftly today and minimise the risks of wider transmission. The understanding, support and cooperation from the Perthshire Rugby community are greatly appreciated. It is anticipated that this will be a temporary situation and our vigilance to date will reduce any delays to the resumption of training.

Once we have reviewed the situation on Sunday a decision will be made about training resuming over next week. This will be communicated on Monday.
