Membership Fees to Resume in August 2020

Perthshire Rugby AGM 2020 took place on the Thursday 30th July 2020 at 7pm.  The AGM was accessible by Zoom in light of the current circumstances and restrictions, as set out by the Scottish Government.

 

At the meeting, the subject of Membership Fee Restart was put to vote.

 

Scotland is slowly easing its way out of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions and with the announcement of the country moving into Phase 3, the re-start of some contact sport has been confirmed.  We are delighted to announce we are in the process of putting plans in place for the re-start of Rugby on the North Inch. 

 

With this in mind, following our decision to suspend membership fees over the last few months, it was agreed at the AGM last night that these will now resume from August 2020, the collection of these fees will assist in ensuring the financial stability of the club.

 

Your Team Manager will keep you fully informed with regular updates, we are all excited to getting back to rugby once again.

Following the announcement regarding the postponed Wales V Scotland game, this is to advise you that the SRU are currently working on the refund process.

They have asked we reassure our members who purchased tickets through the Club that refunds will be processed as quickly as possible.  Refunds will available from 31st August 2020.

AGM Cook Along LIVE – the Tarte Tatin REMATCH

Nearly 2 months have passed since the first Perthshire Cook Along Live, but the debate & dispute over the Tarte Tatin has not passed. In advance of the Club AGM Jeremy Wares invites all comers to take on the challenge and show their skills in the Tarte Tatin Rematch!
Log-in at 5:50pm on Thursday 30th July to take part and compete. The prizes on the evening will be:
Best Looking Tarte Tatin – Worst Tarte Tatin – Most Original Tarte Tatin
It should only last 30 minutes. Wannabe chefs and bakers get ready, there is only one rule: it must be prepared & cooked live (not in advance)!
Ingredients:
1 packet butter
1 small bag caster sugar
1 ready roll puff pastry
Fruit of your choice or 10 apples

Can you core an apple? How well does your pastry puff? Do you have what it takes to be the undisputed Perthshire Champion of Tarte Tatins?

Return to Rugby at Perthshire RFC

COVID-19 Safety Coordinator appointed and Club working to resume training once safe.

The SRU in conjunction with the Scottish Government recently published the Return to Rugby Roadmap. This details 6 Stages with indicative dates for the resumption of training then playing competitive rugby. There is a long uncertain road to travel until that point but, be assured, at Perthshire Rugby we are taking the necessary steps to get back as safely and effectively as possible.

Club Captain Ewan “Macka” MacKessack-Leitch has been appointed as our COVID-19 Safety Coordinator. This role is to “oversee the public health and safety measures across the club, ensuring that the club is operating in a safe manner and adheres to Scottish Government and SRU guidelines.”

An Action Plan has been developed following risk assessments, SRU guidance and input from across the Club. This will be a whole Club effort, every team will appoint a COVID-19 Team Lead to work with Macka to monitor and ensure compliance with COVID-19 safety procedures & protocols within their team/group.

Rugby is coming back to the North Inch! It will be different and take a bit more time until the necessary precautions and safeguards are in place, but we will be there soon. Your Team Managers or Section Heads will be in touch regarding the return to training – each will be working to their own timescale.

NOTICE OF AGM

All members are invited to join the Perthshire Rugby AGM at 7pm on Thursday 30th July.  This year, due to Government Restrictions and Covid 19 Guidance the AGM will be held over Zoom.

This is your opportunity to learn of the club’s achievements during the past season and what our future plans are.  The committee members will also be elected for season 2020/21 and all the section heads will be giving a brief report on their activities throughout the past year.

Members are welcome to raise any topic they wish to discuss but these should be submitted in writing prior to the event by emailing either the Club Secretary, Bob Lindsay,  blindsaydunkeld@btinternet.com  or the CEO, Allan Brown at ceo@perthshire-rfc.co.uk

All players are particularly welcome to attend and it would be good to see a large turnout for this important event in Perthshire Rugby’s calendar.
