Perthshire Rugby Minis team up with Glenalmond College

Perthshire Rugby has announced that they are teaming up with Glenalmond College. Glenalmond College will be Perthshire Minis’ Official Partner – a partnership that cements the already strong relationship and rugby connections between the two organisations. The partnership will mean that Glenalmond College will feature on the front of Perthshire Minis’ match strips and provide a generous contribution to Perthshire Rugby’s operational costs. Perthshire Minis will also have the opportunity to grow and thrive, with discussions on the exciting potential opportunities that the relationship can deliver, just in their infancy.

Commenting on the news, Mini Section Head, Carol Ann Rose, said, “The exciting news was announced to our children at our Mini Christmas Party, kindly hosted by Glenalmond College. It was a superb day. Our girls and boys had the opportunity to explore the grounds and outdoors, toast marshmallows at the outdoor classroom and were served a delicious lunch in the fabulous Hogwarts-style dining hall. There was even a surprise visit from Santa” said Carol Ann. “Sincere thanks to pupils and staff for being so welcoming and hospitable. Our children and parents really enjoyed their day. News of our partnership with Glenalmond and future opportunities to collaborate was the icing on the cake”.

Graham Smith, Director of Sport and Head of Rugby at Glenalmond, said the school was delighted to announce the partnership during Sunday’s visit to Glenalmond by around 230 Minis players and their families. “It was fantastic to receive such positive feedback from the players, parents and coaches when the partnership was announced on Sunday and we are very much looking forward to working closely with the club in the years ahead,” said Mr Smith. “As well as building on our long-established links with the sport of rugby, Glenalmond College and Perthshire Rugby Club minis also share a great many values – such as the drive for constant improvement, fair play and fun,” he added.

Perthshire Rugby, recently voted Club of the Year at the Perth & Kinross Sports Awards, credits the dedication of their coaches, volunteers & players to their continued momentum. Carol Ann comments, “We’re an ambitious & hard-working club. The dedication of our coaches and volunteers shines through in the standard of our rugby product and the fun enjoyed by girls and boys age 4(P1) to U12. We are thrilled to have this opportunity and receive shirt sponsorship support from Glenalmond. There’s a great rapport and many synergies between us. We look forward to collaborating and developing a partnership that will benefit all the girls and boys in our mini section”.

“I’d like to extend a special thanks to Glenalmond College Warden Hugh Ouston, Director of Marketing and Communications, Carol McLaren and Director of Sport, Graham Smith for this fantastic opportunity”.
