Participating in sports, such as rugby, can offer children a highly positive and enjoyable experience. Perthshire Rugby is dedicated to ensuring that all children not only have a great time playing rugby but also remain safe and shielded from harm.
We acknowledge that all adults responsible for coaching or supervising children bear the responsibility of safeguarding their well-being. This commitment encompasses preventing any form of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse directed at children, without regard to their gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
Safeguarding in sports goes beyond shielding children from potential external threats. A trusted coach or leader may be the individual a child confides in about issues occurring at home or outside of their sports activities. In both scenarios, it is vitally important we all share a responsibility to take action upon any concerns raised.
If you have any concerns or would like guidance please contact our Child Protection & Wellbeing Officer Kirsty Binnie: childprotection@perthshire-rfc.co.uk
